Bio Picture: Raquel Chole
As President of Global Leadership Resources, an authorized licensee of Crestcom International, Raquel operates in Chicagoland for Crestcom. She works with small, mid-market, and Fortune 500 companies to develop critical management skills.
Raquel’s passion for leadership development originates from her background in global business development for an automotive component maker serving all major car producers, including Ford, VW, GM, Nissan, SAIC, Adient, and Toyota. It was through her work in automotive she received the honor of being named one of the most influential women in American manufacturing by the National Association of Manufacturers and earned the Minority Supplier Development award from Johnson Controls.
Hired as an agent of change for her company, Raquel was responsible for growing the automotive segment of the business from 3% to 60% of sales and had a leading role in establishing manufacturing plants in Mexico and China, as well as exploring Eastern European options. With the Chairman of the Board, she created and managed development programs for women employees of the company. In partnership with the Michigan Minority Council, Toyota and Johnson Controls served as a corporate mentor and business development champion for minority businesses seeking to serve the automotive supply chain.
Raquel's passion for excellence led her to partner with Crestcom, one of the training industry's most widely used management and leadership development programs among Fortune magazine’s “Most Admired Companies.” Development areas of focus include effective communication, customer service, managing change, negotiation, problem-solving, raising productivity, strategic thinking, and team building. Her experience, paired with Crestcom’s award-winning signature program, The Bullet Proof® Manager, helps people produce real business results.
Raquel earned a B.A. from the Loyola University of Chicago and a Master's degree from St. Xavier University of Chicago. On weekends, you'll find Raquel and her family playing music out and about with their music students. Raquel and her son Rory share a world title in Irish music ensemble playing and a passion for the joy and excitement it brings to their lives.

Embedding Purpose into Leadership

In 2019, Business Roundtable, an association for CEOs of America’s leading companies— including nearly 200 CEOs of brands such as Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, McDonald’s and Target— made a significant change to their Statement on the Purpose of a Corporation. Before this change, their Statement of Purpose reflected a common belief that the only purpose of a corporation is to benefit shareholders. However, in August of 2019, the group adopted a new philosophy, declaring that the purpose of a corporation is to deliver long-term value to all stakeholders through a commitment to customers, employees, suppliers, communities and shareholders. This shift in purpose is an important one, but only if it is truly embedded into the culture of the companies and the actions of their leadership.
