Demystifying Crestcom Franchise Sales

I came across a recent article in Forbes magazine, titled Demystifying Franchise Sales: The Six-Step Process Every Buyer Needs To Know. It’s a well-done piece that can generally guide anyone thinking about purchasing a franchise through the basics. If you’re one of those people, I highly recommend it.

But it also got me to thinking about how helpful it would be to some people to know Crestcom’s step-by-step franchise sales process specifically. So, in the spirit of Chris Meyers’ article, I’d like to share with you what you can expect as you embark on your discovery journey with Crestcom.

Step 1: Contact a Crestcom Franchise Representative

Let us know that you’re interested in learning more about becoming a Crestcom franchisee! Don’t worry, this first step does not obligate you to anything, it’s simply the beginning. If you’re curious about what it takes to be a successful Crestcom franchisee, just reach out and let us know.

Our franchise development representatives are friendly and here to help you (and us) determine if this is the right business opportunity for you! Click here to contact us.

Step 2: Receive and Watch Our Franchise Briefing Video

Once we’ve had a chance to chat, we will send you our Franchise Briefing Video. Again, this is a very informal part of the process—you are absolutely not committing to anything. We just want to make sure that everyone gets a consistent high-level overview of who we are, what it’s like to be a Crestcom franchisee, and what it takes to get there.

Step 3: Review Our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)

As Meyers mentions in his article, the FDD step is where things get really exciting. The Franchise Disclosure Document, or FDD, is required and regulated in the United States by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). It provides prospective new franchisees with the level of transparency any smart business person would want to know before purchasing or investing in a business.

Within it, you will find information on our history, how much purchasing and operating a Crestcom franchise will cost, the support you will receive from us and what is expected of you, and the economic performance of Crestcom and our franchisees. Note that, due to federal regulations (and just good, ethical business practices), we absolutely cannot offer you any type of earnings claim, we can only disclose historic information provided in Item 19 of the FDD.

The FDD is a bit of an overwhelming document for a lot of people, our sales team will walk through the document with you, explaining all the details and financial information provided. You will also get the chance to talk with Crestcom franchisees and hear their story at this time. They were once like you, thinking about a change in life and considering controlling their own destiny, and they ultimately chose Crestcom. You will be able to ask specific questions about how they came to their decision and what it is like to run a Crestcom business.

Many people also opt to work with a franchise advisor and/or legal counsel to help them understand the FDD from an unbiased third-party. Don’t worry, this doesn’t hurt our feelings and, in fact, we encourage you to do so as well!

Step 4: Attend Field Training with a Franchisee

Steps 4 and 5 are what really set us apart from most other franchises. Because we actually train you before you make a purchase decision. This is almost unheard of in the industry. But, we do this for a very important reason. We want to make absolutely sure that you have all the information and knowledge we can humanly provide before you make your big purchase decision.

For the first part of your training, we will set you up with another franchisee either in your local area or here in the Denver area so you can do a “ride along”. You’ll get to know the “day in the life” of a real Crestcom franchisee, see how they run their business, conduct sales calls and meetings, and/or run a training class. You will have the opportunity to openly talk with them and ask questions about their business and their experiences as a Crestcom franchisee.

Step 5: Attend a 3-Day Training Class at Crestcom Headquarters

Next, you will attend our 3-day franchise training right here in Denver, Colorado. You will get to meet the team that would be supporting you if you decide to become a Crestcom franchisee. And you will learn about all our marketing, sales, and business operations processes.

During this time, you will have the opportunity to ask all the questions of our leadership team that you need to ask. You will learn how Crestcom supports franchisees in their local markets, and we’ll help you bring everything together, so you understand what you will need to do to make your business successful.
